Jersey Shore Roller Girls: The Jersey Shore's only all girl roller derby. The girls are great and the sport is about as fun as it gets. Hit up their site to find out what's going on
Jersey Pride: The title says it all Save Barnegat Bay: A not-for-profit environmental group working to conserve undeveloped natural land and clean water throughout the Barnegat Bay watershed. Please pay them a visit and help to protect the environment of the Jersey Shore Citizens Right to Access Beaches: This is a non-profit organization set up to help protect the beaches of the Jersey Shore from privatization. Based out of Point, they are fighting to ensure the Jersey coastline remains accessible to locals and everyone else. Please visit their site, read about the issues, and help keep our beaches safe from development. Lacey Rail Trail: A grassroots organization dedicated to watershed improvement, habitat protection, ecological stability and pedestrian safety issues in Ocean County. Surfrider Foundation: This is the Jersey Shore chapter of a grassroots, non-profit organization seeking to protect the oceans, waves, and beaches Marine Terrace Ocean Terrace Seaview Avenue Alliance: Another non-profit organization set up to defend the greater Long Branch area from the abuse of eminent domain Celebrate New Jersey: A non-profit set up to share all the reasons NJ is worth celebrating. Save Tillie: Help to protect the irreplaceable icons of the Jersey Shore. Dave Thomas Foundation: The Dave Thomas Foundation works to help children currently in the foster care system find adoptive parents. It was founded by Dave Thomas, better known as the founder of Wendy's, a native of the Jersey Shore and an adopted child himself. New Jersey Boards: A comprehensive message board for everything Jersey. Tent State University: This is a student movement which began at Rutgers working to fix the problems of our educational system through the implementation of true democracy and student participation. Pay them a visit and get involved. Businesses and companies New Jersey: The Movie: Steve Chernoski's full-length documentary film, created to determine where the dividing line is between North and South Jersey. We anxiously await its release. Definitely check it out. The Art of SkullBoy: Some awesome artwork from a great guy, straight out of the Jersey Shore. Mantoloking Road Pub: The MRP is one of the best bars and restaurants around. Plus, it's all locals on the inside. View Askew: This is Kevin Smith's company. For we here at BGH, he has been a major inspiration, as has Jason Mewes, through all the years. From their films to the Secret Stash in Red Bank, these guys are pure Jersey and deserve everyone's respect. Fins: A tropicali grill known for it's wonderful blend of coastal and Latin flavors. This is some of the best food on the Jersey Shore with locations in Brick and Bradley Beach. Weird NJ: A travel guide and magazine to places you won't find on state maps or located on any tourist attraction pamphlets. Music and bands Mike Mullane & Friends/The Bayonne Bleeders: This is the man and the band behind I'm a Benny and Benny Go Home as well as plenty of other awesome songs. Mike and his crew are truly some great people with real love and respect for Jersey and the shore. Show them some support and enjoy their music The Stone Pony: Not only is the Pony one of the birthplaces of the Jersey Sound, but from the managers to the bouncers, they are truly dedicated to serving the local community and doing whatever they can to help out Ska Radio: Ska Radio is a Punk/Ska station based out of the Jersey Shore. Plenty of ska and 'a hell of a lot of locals'. Check it and support the local scene! The Jam Room: One of central Jersey's best recording and rehearsal studios, catering to the local music scene. If you're a musician, definitely check 'em out Saltwater Allstars: A very cool band with a very original shore style, and Benny Plow is an all time favorite 7minds: The band that brought us Seaside Tony and plenty of other great music Wicker Hollow: An awesome rock sound straight out of Howell The Hams: A pretty heavy band from the shore Shorty Long: This band is a staple of Seaside and Toms River |
