Not unlike the state of which it is a small part, the Jersey Shore is a place of infinite intrigue and diversity. From the ocean avenues to the back roads, it's a place with an identity and character so deeply rooted that it's impossible to adequately define.
While their are those who view this state with disrespect, locals understand this place for what it is; rich in history, natural surroundings, and an attitude unique to the native population. Although home to the first boardwalk, over one hundred miles of coastline, and hundreds of cities and towns, there is much more to the Jersey Shore than a few beaches and parkway exits. For locals, it's a place to call home.
In short, being a local isn't just about where you live, it's about where your heart is. It's about skeeball, porkroll, egg, and cheese sandwiches, late nights at the diner, and being proud to be from the great state of Jersey.
It is from this reality that the BGH movement was born; to unite the people under one flag, dispel the misinformation, and call for the respect and consideration that the Jersey Shore culture deserves.
If you too feel that the Jersey Shore has been denigrated for too long, then join the cause and stand up to the assault. This place is our home, our battlefield, and the very essense of what we fight for, and we shall defend it on the beaches and in the streets, until every native and visitor alike recognizes that there is more to Jersey than the surface, and there is no appeasement without respect.
